The Ascended Lifestyle

by Del Hungerford

We begin by asking the question... what is "ascension?" To many, it's a new age word that has nothing to do with Christianity. If you think about what it involves, there's really a better word for it. I call it the "come up here" principle as described in Revelation 4:1 where John was invited by the Lord to see into the future. Many believe John literally went into the heavens for this encounter or that Ezekiel did the same thing when he saw the wheel in Ezekiel 1. Who knows for sure HOW it happened but... there are clues to better understand.

Here are some truths that we do know:

  • God (Yahweh) is as close as the air we breathe. (Acts 17:28)
  • WE are the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor. 6:19)
  • We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. (Eph. 2:6)
  • We are IN Christ and He's in us. (2 Cor. 5:17, Galations 2:20, Colossians 3:3)

Now, let's put this together to describe "ascension." Since our bodies are a living temple where the Holy Spirit resides, we must remember that in the Holy Temple, there was a holy of holies. That's where the priests went before God once a year to atone for the sins of the people. Our personal holy of holies is in our heart. Many are now calling that place either the "castle of our heart" or the "garden of the heart." Science says that the heart is a greater thinking organ than the brain. When we refer to our gut instinct, that's also a reference to the heart. It's the most intimate part of our being where all life comes forth. Without the heart beating, life ceases to exist.

In The Cloud article, I give a definition of ascension. Here's what that article says...

I asked AI to provide a spiritual definition of ascension. I was told  that "in spiritual contexts, ascension generally refers to a process of awakening and transformation, where one moves from a state of limited awareness to a higher consciousness and connection with the divine. It's often described as a journey of self-discovery and spiritual evolution, involving shedding old patterns, integrating different aspects of oneself, and aligning with one's soul purpose."

AI can be hit or miss but in this case, it seemed to spell out ascension quite nicely. Notice the words "awakening and transformion." This occurs first when we become a Christian (salvation). Sadly, this is where many believers stop the process. From here, we move from the limited state of awareness (our natural mind within the soul), and turn inward to the spirit where we step into our "God Consciousness." Instead of simply self-discovery, as AI puts it, we learn who we are in Christ. Communion is FOR this purpose and helps us understand our identity as Sons of God. The above definition also mentions "aligning with one's soul purpose." Well, that's hard to do unless we're seated in Christ (from our spirit, not the soul) in heavenly places. Christ did it first. That set the example for us to follow. He went ahead of us, showing the way to our "inHimness" with God. The final stage is the Perfection of God.

We are seated in Christ in heavenly places. That heavenly place is within you - in your heart. We are IN Christ and He is in us. I call this "in himness." Acts 17:28 also tells us that God is as close as the air we breathe. Well, the last time I checked, I breathe here on earth so that must mean God is literally inside me because that's where my breathing begins. It's just common sense. We've tried to spiritualize this WAY too much.

Look at the picture of the Holy Temple. Now, visualize your body as this temple. The Ark of the Covenant represents your heart. It's the place of great intimacy with the Trinity.

I propose that the word "ascension" actually refers to turning into the very core of your being - into your heart where you meet with God, just like the priests did in the Old Testament but in a physical temple. The new age movement calls this a higher level of consciousness but the part they are missing is that God is the Creator of all things, including our consciousness. How can we function properly unless we include Him in the process? Most new agers function from the soulish level of "self" rather than partnering with God in the spirit.

The temple became a part of our being upon the death of Jesus. Remember when Jesus said to the disciples that the Holy Spirit was being sent? Not long after that, the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed (A.D. 69). This was a sign that the temple is now WITHIN us. When the veil in the temple ripped after Jesus died on the cross, that was the moment He fulfilled what was spoken in the Old Testament. The problem (just like today) is that the "old guard" didn't recognize the shift in seasons.

At that time, they were shifting "ages" from Aries to Pisces. (An "age" typically lasts about 2,000 years.) Pisces is represented by the fish symbol, which was the beginning of the church age. Have you ever wondered why Christianity uses the fish symbol? Aries was the sign of the bull, which was also very prevelant in the previous age. Remember the golden calf at the time of Moses that Aaron built while Moses was on the mountain. Have you ever wondered why it was a calf and not a lamb or some other animal? The ancients understood the ages. What we call the Zodiac is really the Mazzaroth, which tells the story of creation. It was corrupted into what we now call "astrology" in the 1950's. But, we'll discuss this further in another post.

The point here is that WE are the temple of the Holy Spirit and that when we "ascend," it literally means we are going into our living temple into the the holy of holies (our heart) where we learn of the mysteries of God. From that position, we release it in the natural realm. This concept can be difficult to understand so that's one reason many of us use the picture of a mountain to describe it. I'll put that picture below as a visual for you.

Our heart is the inner part of the mountain where we meet with God. The outside of the mountain represents the three parts of our being - spirit, soul, and body. At the top of the mountain is our spirit, which is supposed to release direction into the soul, which then flows down to the body. In a sense, this is a circular thing where the flow comes from the inside to the outside, much like the toroidal shape science uses to describe how energy moves. Hmmm.... Does this mean science is finally catching up to what God has been saying all along?

My Journey of Discovery

When I first started my journey into deeper intimacy with God, I had no idea it would take me into uncharted territory. When I say that, for years, I said the standard, “Father, come down here and meet with me” that I was taught in church. However, over time, I began to realize that if we’re the temple of the Holy Spirit and God is as close as the air we breathe, He’s already here. My problem? I wasn’t looking in the right places. In Revelation 4:1, why did God tell John to “Come up here” to talk with Him?

Since God is as close as the air we breathe, and the Holy Spirit makes our body His temple, and we can “come up here” to meet God, then that’s what we should do. He’s in us, around us, and above us. It’s a matter of stepping into the realization of that fact. How do we do it? Well, for me, that was rather difficult figuring out. I asked questions for years about many things and people just didn’t have answers. Those questions continued to sit on a shelf until the first time I heard Ian Clayton. I had no clue what he was talking about but what he said witnessed with my spirit and… he was the first person who had answers to the questions I’d asked for years. A couple of years later, I started listening to Mike Parsons and others who mirrored what Ian said. To make things easier for everyone, I've chosen to use the same terminology as they do so there's minimal confusion.

In a nutshell, I learned that as a Son of God (no male or female in Christ), I can live an “ascended lifestyle.” What exactly is that? I’ve coined the phrase “come up here principle” which means that my focus is on spending time with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit “up here,” where I see things through the spirit rather than in the natural. John even says throughout scripture that he was “in the spirit.” If he could do it, so can we. We do this through our imagination – it’s how we “see” in the spirit. For the longest time, I didn’t know how to do that. I practiced and practiced and practiced daily seeing with my spiritual eyes. As with all things in life, the more you practice, the better you get at something. Seeing in the spirit isn’t a gift. It’s part of what we can all do. For some, it comes very naturally. That wasn’t the case for me.

Many of you may remember Rick Joyner’s book The Final Quest. That’s a wow book for me because it’s so vivid. The first part grossed me out but never-the-less, I read beyond that part because something about the story intrigued me. It wasn’t until nearly 20 years later that I realized Joyner’s book is based on the come up here principle. He was in the spirit and shown many things.

In the two other books of the series (The Call and the Torch and the Sword), the rest of the story is told. The overall gist of the books focuses on repentance, humility, and a deeper understanding and relationship with God. I had all but forgotten about the books until I began to have similar experiences. That’s when I pulled them back out and read them again with my spiritual senses rather than physical. I encourage you to get the books and read them if you haven't yet done so. They will open your eyes to many of the things we talk about in NW Ekklesia.

Learning to live “from heaven to earth” takes practice. Oh, and did I say that it takes practice? The age-old teaching based on gifts has nothing to do with this principle. I never functioned in any of the spiritual gifts so there’s nothing special about what I do. I practice and practice and practice ascending into the depths of my heart where I’m seeing things from a heavenly perspective rather than our normal run-of-the-mill boring life. Somehow, I managed to stay away from much of the negative "churchy" stuff because I always had a sense that God is good… ALL the time. No, I didn’t understand everything that happened but in most cases, I chose to see how God used a situation to help me mature. My most recent experience with that involved losing my home to the eminent domain process. That story is for another time… but, in case you're interested, I tell about it in my latest book, Transforming Mindsets

Living an ascended lifestyle is simply focusing on being in the presence of God through the “come up here” principle of being with Him in the kingdom realms of heaven via our personal temple. Yes, there are lots of amazing things that I see but those all direct me to Him… Yahweh… God… my Creator. In that place of the ascended lifestyle, I get to know the persons of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Just like best friends, we sit and talk about many things. I watch and learn, then “do” myself. Not only do they want to get to know me but I learn about their desires, too. Friendship goes both ways. It requires two to make a relationship work. If I’m always going up saying, “God, I need this!” and never spend time getting to know Him, that’s no different than writing a check for goods. There’s no relationship involved in that at all!

How do we learn to live an ascended lifestyle? You guessed it… practice! If seeing in the spirit is difficult, go into the blog posts on this site and look for the one about seeing in the spirit. I created my own exercises, similar to what I put in the blog post. I journal and write what I see, hear, and sense even if it doesn’t make sense. Check it for scriptural accuracy later is my best advice. If we second guess what we’re writing, we’ll often miss the good stuff. If we ask God to give us bread, He’s not going to give us a rock. There’s no need to be concerned about deception when our hearts are pure and our goal is intimacy with Yahweh. When our eyes are on Jesus, they aren’t on the enemy. Who cares what the enemy does anyway! As they say in the book Teaching With Love and Logic, ignore the bad behavior and focus on the good. We learn best by focusing on the good things, not the bad. If there’s still concern, decree and declare a sanctified imagination and go for it!

Below is a recap of my version of an image that Nicolas Acuna shared with a private group as he talked about ascension, which is really different levels of consciousness.  There are 7 levels of ascension. They are also  7 levels of communion with Christ through our consciousness. This is often done through deep meditation where we are "in the mind of Christ." That's difficult to do when we have an expectation of what something should look or be like.

First, we look at a version of the image he shared in the meeting that I revised based on my own revelation of the process....

We are seated IN Christ at whichever level of communion we choose. The bottom represents the lowest level of consciousness and communion while the top represents the highest (expanded) level.

  1. We are "born again" (incarnated) in Christ.
  2. We are crucified with Christ.
  3. We are resurrected with Christ.
  4. We sit with Christ in heavenly places. (Ephesians 2:6)
  5. We sit with Christ in our position of understanding that we existed at the beginning. (Ephesians 1:4)
  6. We sit with Christ in the fullness of who he is and entrain with that fullness as we see and function from that position. (Galations 1:19-21)
  7. We sit with Christ in the position of perfection in the "allness" of God, who is Source.

The + and - represent a time reference with the minus being the beginning. The plus is physical reality, where we exist on earth. Ascension brings the reality of heaven to earth.

Nicolas' (my version) image helps us visualize what the process looks like. Jesus was ALREADY in heaven seated in His heavenly position and functioning in the "Allness" of God BEFORE he chose to come to earth as a physical body.

In His heavenly position, He's Christ

In His earthly position, He was Jesus

Scripture says we're seated with CHRIST, not in Jesus. This is the resurrected Christ who is bringing the fulfillment of who he is as fully human and fully God. This is one reason he came to earth to "redeem" us. We can't be seated with Jesus because that's not his full identity. When we "ascend" seated IN CHRIST into the heavenly places through our consciousness (our inner self that resides in our holy of holies), we rule and reign as Sons of God. We begin the ruling and reigning process with self, then family, then our neighborhood, community, and so on. Just like a child, when we show a certain level of responsibility in one area, we're given more. This is what the parable of the talents demonstrates. (Matthew 25:14-30)

You shall know them by their fruit

If you don't know which level of consciousness (ascension) you're functioning from, look at the fruit in your life. What level of love (or fear) do you reside in? How are people around you affected by what's coming from within you? Do you see positive change in your life? How have things moved forward over the last year or even several years of your life? How is your overall health (spiritual, emotional, and physical)? The answers to these questions determine the level of fruit you're bearing that can also determine which level of ascension you're engaging with.

At which level on the above chart do you "commune with" daily? This goes beyond the body and the blood that we take on Sunday mornings in church. This is interacting and partaking with the very essence of the resurrected Christ who has ascended into heaven. It's FROM that position, we see, hear, sense, and feel the very heart of God where we entrain (attune to) His very thoughts. It's from those thoughts we are co-creators. This is sonship at its highest level as we go through "kingdom school." I talk about that in my Maturing as a Mystic series. The workbook that goes with it has several examples. The incarnate level on Nicolas' chart is like Kingdom Grade School. The top level is like Kingdom Graduate School.  We choose which level to function as we mature from being spoon fed to co-creating with Christ.

As you'll hear in many articles by those within NW Ekklesia, the "ascended lifestyle" is all about functioning from our positions as we're seated in Christ. From there, the lessons in co-creation begin as we mature into different levels of authority. This takes time, a few mistakes, and a good amount of practice. The ascended lifestyle isn't a gift - it's a lifestyle that requires daily practice. Like anything else in life, the more you do something, the better at it you get. So, let's move on to an activation!

NOTE: Even Nicolas spoke in the meeting that the imagination is a starting point for the ascension process. This is why Jesus taught in parables. He used things the people understood. So, sanctify the imagination and then go for it!

Activation!

Here's another activation based on a teaching I heard from Ian Clayton. As usual, I took the teaching and created an activation that would help me understand the concepts of living an ascended life. It started out with stepping into it through the "Law of Faith." I believe that I spoke this daily for at least a year until it was deep within my spirit. Again, it's about practice as I renewed my mind to align with God's truth and character.

Here is that declaration. Say it as often as you feel led to.

Yahweh, I come by faith, stepping through the veil into the kingdom of Your presence here on earth. I turn towards Your presence and embrace Your presence and Glory. I turn towards you with my spirit, soul, and body. I fold them around you and embrace You with my heart, mind, and will. By faith, I engage the Law of Faith and come under its government. I receive the full measure of what I have to receive through the Law of Faith. I'm sanctified by the Law of Faith. I receive increase. The Law of Faith presides over all that I do and the supply of God moves through me. As I stand in Your presence, I release the Law of Faith to funciton in and through me. Yahweh, I open the gate of Love and allow that to flow towards You. Father, I ask now that you'd release the River of Glory from the throne of Your presence inside of me. In your presence, by faith, I receive all from you: All the kingdom promise, purpose, destiny, dominion, power, authority, sanctification, all that's on my scroll for me to live here on earth and all the mandate - everything, Father! I receive the ministry today of all the angels that have been assigned to me, my family, my Ekklesia, my entire country, the planet, and the universe - that have been loosed to madate and fight for me on my behalf. Father, I walk by faith, I stay in Your presence and recieve all my angelic assistance.

Enjoy your ascension journey!

The Cloud

What many call the "ascension" process is nothing more than learning to see in the spirit with the eyes of your heart through the vehicle of your imagination. In a sense, the word "ascension" is misleading because we're not actually ascending to be with God. Why is that? The Word says that in Him we live, move, and have our being. (Acts 17:28) That indicates He's with us all the time. The Bible also says that God is as close as the air we breathe. (Psalm 145:18 and Acts 17:28). Therefore, it appears that ascension is merely another term for looking inward to your heart and meeting God there. He's in us and we're in Him.

People use the word ascension to show that we're stepping into what I call the "come up here" principle. I think they came up with this definition to show how it's different than standard church teaching. It's a reference to Revelation 4:1 where John is invited to visit heaven (really more than an ascension). The gist of ascension is to see things from a heavenly, not earthly, perspective. We can't do that unless we visualize any circumstance through God's eyes. That requires letting go of everything we think we know or humanly understand. This includes what we read in the Bible and have been told about what it says. There are as many interpretations of scripture as there are people alive. Therefore, how do any of us know which interpretation is the one coming from God's heart? Which one describes the true character of God? Sometimes that answer leads us to a good description.

With the introduction now complete, we continue with the seeing in the spirit theme where I get to tell you another story followed by another activation! Once I began this journey, God knew I needed a physical healing. I was asking Him to show me how to be healed. And of course, He answered but not in the way I expected. My questions led to Him showing me that I had to deal with some past junk, including generational things that have kept me in an uncomfortable place.

In this next experience, I run into a “man of old” in the heavenly realms. I never learn who he is but I do know that he came to show me an area of my life that was clouded over, keeping me from “seeing” the blessings that God has for me. It’s also fascinating that now that I’ve helped write the book, “Accessing Your Spiritual Inheritance,” I’m getting many opportunities to work through some stuff in my life. It’s all for the purpose of bringing me to a place where I can indeed fulfill what’s on the destiny scroll of my life.

With that, here’s the story…

The Cloud

I see what looks like a foggy and dense cloud before me. Out of the midst of the fog walks a tall figure. I can’t tell who it is but I watch as the figure approaches. I can tell he’s a man, very large in stature and regal. I wonder if he’s an angel or …?

“I’m here to show you things you’ve asked about,” he says, motioning for me to follow him. “I’m one of the men of old,” he continues, answering my thoughts.

He’s more serious than others I’ve met so I don’t dilly dally any longer. The moment I step to follow him, he turns and starts to head back into the cloud. He then motions for me to walk beside him. After doing so, we continue in silence, walking deeper into this dense cloud. It’s so thick, I’m almost choking. It’s not a bad thing, I sense. The texture seems different than what I’ve felt before. I still don’t like it because I can only see the path we’re on.

We eventually come into a clearing where I can see green grass. The cloud only lifts high enough for me to see the grass – which I understand to symbolize that I can see my walk or path. Still saying nothing, we continue on. As in previous visits to the kingdom realms, the grass springs back into position after we’ve passed over it.

I watch it as we continue to move further down the path, deeper into this fog. I begin to sense a heaviness that isn’t good. But, even in that, I know this is for me to understand something.

The cloud begins to dissipate and I can now see a clearing ahead of us. Before me is a beautiful lake with the most amazing color of blue. I see rocks on the bottom of the lake and mountains in the distance. Turning back, I look at the cloud.

“Was I not able to see what was in that cloud because I haven’t been ready to see it yet?” I ask.

“You are correct,” he says, turning back to view the cloud with me.

“Am I to assume it’s because of my own heart that needs purification and healing?”

“Yes,” he answers, turning to look me in the eyes. After a bit more silence, he adds “You are now seeing the other side of that cloud – the result of what it’s like once you’re able to see and then deal with what’s in the cloud.”

“I understand,” I respond. “Would you have not brought me here if I’m not in a place where I could take care of that now?” I question.

“You had to see this first to know what’s in the cloud. When people allow hurts to stay in their hearts, their vision is clouded. That’s why you felt choked up. It wasn’t a bad thing, as you assessed, because you sensed freedom would come out of it.” He responds, looking at me more intently.

I can see the kindness even though his voice seems a bit formal. Pondering for another moment, I ask “It has to do with my marriage, doesn’t it?”

“And, do you know what would have caused that cloud to cover your vision?” he prods.

“I allowed Todd’s words to be my thoughts. I believed what he said about me more than what God said about me” I answer.

There’s no hanging my head over that one! I know and understand what I did but hadn’t really thought about the effects of it until now.

“Abuse does interesting things to people,” he adds.

He continues, “Words are very powerful and when you allow what others say to take root, it becomes intent, which then plants a seed of desire. Not all desires are good. You entertained what was said about you. And, it cost you.”

He lovingly looks at me, making sure that I understand.

“You’re right – I did that and didn’t even realize it’s what I was doing.” I respond.

“I would know a little about that,” he adds. “In my life, I, too, dealt with a similar situation. My job now is to help others see their mistakes in this so you can be free now and not have to live with the results of those choices while you’re still on earth” he offers.

I know what I must do… I step aside for a moment and look to the north, where I sense the Throne of God is located. I speak out a repentance prayer and thank God for washing me clean with the Blood of Jesus. I then take a moment to kneel and worship. My friend stands beside me as I walk through this process.

After a bit, I stand and feel compelled to turn around and look back towards the cloud. The cloud is now gone and I can see we’ve walked next to a beautiful, flowing brook in the midst of a beautifully treed forest. The pathway is well worn but still beautiful with pebbles and gemstones worn into the path.

“See!” my friend says. “Once you unclog your vision, you can see what was meant for you. Now, speak redemption into those years,” He further instructs.

Continuing to face the direction we came, I boldly begin “In the Name of Jesus, I speak and decree over this point of my life and say all that was lost is now redeemed. I declare words of hope, love, patience, and kindness. I say that a bright future is planted in the place of what I’ve just dug up and discarded. I say there’s hope for my future. Father, I plant seeds of Your desire in the seedbed of my heart and I water those desires. May your desires be my desires as I water them.”

Looking back up, I see the mountains in the distance have changed. They are closer and brighter. Quickly, I begin running towards them…

(From a journal entry in 2016)

At this time, I still have no idea who this “man of old” was. But, I have a feeling I’ll be seeing him again. As mentioned above, I find it fascinating that as I begin to walk into newer and deeper intimacy with the Father, I get to clean up more of my life. I no longer dread those times because I know going through the purification process brings me to that deeper level of intimacy. So, there really is a moral to this story. I would venture to say that when we allow the things that have held us back to be cleaned and redeemed, there truly is freedom to move forward.

Because this story includes what many call an "ascension," we'll move onto the definition...

Ascension Definition

NOTE: This section added in July of 2025

In a very recent teaching, Nicolas Acuna spoke in a private meeting where he talked about the "ascension" process. Figure 1 is my rendition of an image he shared. I took the image to my strategy room where I sat across the table from Jesus and we discussed the meaning of this image. From there, I created Figure 2, which shows the process on the Star of David. I have to thank Meta AI for creating these images for me.

Figure 1

Figure 2

Some of my wording is changed from what Nicolas first posted on screen. Like anything else, once we begin to get our own revelation, we'll understand more of what God is saying to us. In the first image, it's and upward movement from lower consciousness to higher consciousness. As we are crucified with Christ, we're at the standard church level. Once we step into that resurrected position in Christ, we go up another level of consciousness - or "ascend" to a greater level of understanding and maturity. Nicolas' seven key levels of ascension are:

  1. Incarnate Individual - one who has walked through the salvation process.
  2. Jesus Crucified - one who has been crucified with Christ (through understanding and parcitipating in regular communion).
  3. Jesus Resurrected - one who has risen with Christ (through understanding and participating in regular communion).
  4. Christ Sits in Heavenly Places - one who is seated on the throne of their life IN Christ to rule and reign over everything in, near, and around them (both heavenly and earthly).
  5. Created Before the Foundation of the Earth - one who understands and functions from a higher conscious level of awareness of who they were before they were on earth. This is where the co-creation and greater awakenings begin where we "study" the co-creation process as Sons of God. Welcome to Kingdom College!
  6. All for and in the fullness of Christ - one who begins to understand the deep mysteries of God that then manifests those realities in the world (and heavenlies) around them.
  7. The Allness (Perfection) of God - one who is fully alive, functioning, and living (probably from that immortal position) as a fully mature Son of God. (This needs more exploration)

Jesus (in his humanity) was seated in heavenly places with the Father after his ascension into heaven. Christ is Jesus' heavenly position while Jesus is His earthly position. Christ was created before the foundation of the earth. He was already the fullness of himself with God before the beginning. The "allness" of Christ is the foundation and perfection of God. Christ CHOSE to come to earth, knowing what He was going to go through so WE could ascend with Him to "relearn" and understand our identity, callings, giftings, mandates, blueprints, etc. given to us "at the beginning."

Even though Christ existed "before the beginning," He had to come to the earth in human form as Jesus, which essentially meant He went from the top of the pyramid down. He received the revelation IN HEAVEN while "in God" before the beginning of time. From there, He brought that revelation DOWN to us! Once we receive salvation, we begin to follow Jesus' lead as we, too, understand the process and are then seated with Him in heavenly places. However, this must come from the spirit, not the soul. This "awakening" is way beyond human understanding! We tap into who we were before the foundation of the earth, just like Jesus did. We follow His lead and while seated in Him, we learn through the ascension process.

In Figure 2, I felt led to look up the platonic solids again and then realized that the Star of David has all seven points from Nicolas' diagram. Hmmm... seven represents perfection. It's simply another way to look at the process but in a circular manner. Hebrew thinking is circular where the beginning is the end and vice versa. Nicolas' version creates a picture of the up/down process, which helps us understand the "upward" definition of ascension.

Recap!

Basically, ascension is about stepping into a deeper level of consciousness as we're seated in Christ. We do this from our heart (where our spirit resides). We let go of any personal understanding and are prepared to hear, see, sense, and feel what directly comes from the heart of the Father. We were given an imagination for a reason. Therefore, we often get pictures or see things that make sense to us. God reveals Himself to people based on what they know and understand, just like Jesus did when He spoke through parables. The people understood what He was referring to. Why should God be any different with us? It's a matter of choosing to listen or be stuck in our current understanding. As we let go of pre-conceived ideas, thought patterns, mindsets, traumas, etc., we go higher up the ascension ladder.

One of the best ways of beginning the ascension process is through meditation. It's simply taking time to focus on the goodness of God and stepping into that place of being seated in Christ. We'll do that through an activation below...

Activation Time!

I encourage you to put on some calming instrumental music. If you need some, I have several albums on the Healing Frequencies Music website to choose from. Next, grab a journal, find a quiet place, and start by wrapping yourself in the Perfect Love of God while being in that place of gratitude. Remember... Perfect Love casts out all fear so if this feels odd to you, put yourself in that safe place with Jesus where you FEEL His love for you from that position of gratitude. Then, begin the exercise.

Imagine going up stairs into the heavenly (kingdom) realms. Visualize a door at the top of the stairs. Look around for Jesus. If you don't see Him right away or sense His presence, proceed to a space that you enjoy, perhaps a garden or a workshop. More than likely, what you do see is what you're creating in the heavenly realms. God loves you so much that He wants to see your dreams fulfilled so he'll direct you to the very spot you've created in your dreams and visions. If it's not a garden, what is it? How does this place represent something familiar to you? What do you see? Does it mean anything to you? Are there things you've never seen before? If so, try to describe them. If you sense anything, what?At any point you feel awkward, get back into a place of rest and peace. Wrap yourself in a cloak of Love and allow Jesus to hold and comfort you.

Begin journaling what you see, hear, sense, and feel. The goal of this "ascension" is for greater intimacy with the Trinity. That can only happen when you spend time with them. How do you do it? Well, the Bible is a good launching point but in this case, you SEE yourself with the Trinity somewhere. Where that place is may be different for everyone. It's based on your desires, personal experiences, etc. Think of what you like to do, your career, things you're knowledeable in, etc. It's those places where God often talks to us because He knows we'll understand Him. For me, it's often through music that I learn more about His truths. If you're a carpenter, I bet He'll speak to you in a language that has something to do with carpentry. Be open and prepared for the unexpected and don't explain away things that don't make sense.

Since my experience was about being shown things in my life that "clouded" my thinking, it might be a good place for you to start by asking some questions. Sit in that quiet place once you've reached it. Either write some questions down prior to beginning or write them down now as they come to you. I ask things like, "What do you want me to see today Lord about things that may be holding me back or clouding my vision?" However, don't ask the question if you don't really want the answer. Be prepared for thoughts to come completely from left field. Those are the ones to really pay attention to.

You'll notice that I write in a narrative style. That may not happen for you. You may get fragmented thoughts, phrases, or even sentences that you have to put together after the fact. Like any mystery, we don't always get all the information at one time. Dig deeper for answers and you'll get them. Ask the right questions and be prepared for answers you may have never considered. At times, be prepared to go back another day right where you left off. Sometimes the experiences happen in "chapters" where we move from one thing to the next in a progression. Do keep in mind that you can direct when this occurs. When you ask for bread, does God give you a stone? Therefore, if you ask God to show you things about your life, He will tell you. You just have to learn how to listen. This is one reason why it's important to carefully weigh the thoughts that come from left field.

Most of all... enjoy the journey!

Seeing in the Spirit

by Del Hungerford

The term "seeing in the spirit" seems to be fairly new but in reality, it's all over the Bible. We've just never called it that until recently. Think of all the times people were taken to heaven and saw some pretty weird stuff. Somehow, we've believed it's no longer for us. Who told us that and why did we believe it? There are a myriad of other questions that we could ask as well. The knee jerk reaction to "seeing in the spirit" from some in the Christian community is to think it's something new age. Again, we go back to the Bible. The entire book of Revelation is about seeing in the spirit where God invited John to "come up here" in chapter 4 so He could show John "many things." Think about Ezekiel and the wheel or Jacob watching angels go up and down a ladder. These are only three of the many stories about seeing in the spirit. I ask this question... we were given an imagination so why do we not realize that we can use it for Godly purposes?

We are a three-part being - spirit, soul, and body. We were given an imagination to use it! However, some religions have taught that our imagination could get us into trouble. Well, if they're going to say that, then they might as well tell us to never pick up a knife because we could do something bad with it. Sorry, but my meat cuts much better with a knife than with a fork. We are given "tools of the spirit" to function in our spiritual capacity as Sons of God to do the work of the kingdom. It's just like eating food. Spoons, forks, and knives all have different purposes. ANY of them could be used with a wrong intention that could be harmful for someone. But, why focus on the negative? Any religion that gets you to focus more on the devil than on what God has for you is teaching you how to function from a position of fear. Quite literally, they "fear" you into behaving a certain way. This is how cults work and honestly, many religions today act like cults because they don't function in Perfect Love. But... that's for another blog post. Back to seeing in the spirit...

What does "seeing in the spirit" actually mean? The short definition is literaly what it says - you're seeing things with the eyes of your heart rather than your intellectual brain of knowledge. This involves the imagination. For those concerned, simply sanctify the imagination before beginning the process, inviting Jesus into your vision. When someone tells you a story, most of the time, you get a visual in your head of what is being described. In this case, you're seeing with the eyes of your brain. Seeing with the eyes of the spirit (in your heart) comes from within the spiritual portion of your being that's tied directly to the heart of God.

The question I always ask is... if Jesus did what he saw his Father do, shouldn’t we do the same? By learning HOW to see into the kingdom realms of God, we are able to develop relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It’s no different than spending time with a spouse or best friend. You learn about that person by spending time with them. God wants the same for us; to spend time with Him in His realm. He’s already here on earth so now, all we have to do is see what he does, learn about it, and then do what we’ve learned.

Many are walking on the face of the earth today who have learned to function out of heaven as a daily protocol. How do people do it? Instead of seeing things from an emotional perspective, we step into the eyes of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Visualize sitting "in Him" every day. The Bible says we're seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6) and it's FROM THAT PLACE where we do everything. After we get the thoughts of God on any subject, we then release the revelation of what we've seen from heaven into earth. In a sense, we bring that revelation back to our present moment and begin to funciton out of that.

We all know that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are as close as the air we breathe. However, why is it we think that everything has to happen here, on earth? In the book of Revelations, John was given the invitation to “come up here.” When he did, he got a lot more than he expected, I’m sure! It was from his heavenly position that he learned of the coming things that ended the age. Just to clarify, I believe (like many others do at this point) that the Lord was talking about the end of the Old Testament age as they entered the Church age, which began after Jesus ascended into heaven. We are now transitioning from the church age into what some call the "Age of God" or "Kingdom Age." But, that topic is for a future blog post. You'll see snippets of this topic throughout this entire website.

The whole point behind the pracitce of seeing in the spirit is to understand that our spiritual eyes are just as important as our physical eyes and that we need to learn to use both. This is different than prophecy or words of knowledge because you actually see stuff in the spirit and eventually have understanding of what it all means. Many times when people give prophetic words or words of knowledge, they don't have an understanding of what stuff means. With seeing in the spirit, we might not have the understanding right away but the more we practice this stuff, the better we "see" and then understand. People think prophecy, tongues, and other spiritual "gifts" are only given to some people. I believed that lie for quite some time until I began to practice seeing in the spirit.

Throughout this website, you'll hear us talk about visions and  encounters with the Trinity. That may come in the form of dreams, visions, or general engagements with the godhead. I sit and often journal during this time, writing down what I see, hear, sense, and feel even if it doesn't make sense. I may be in my heart garden or some other places in the heavenlies while having a conversation with a member of the Trinity. As we converse, I write it all down.

You learn to peruse the lay of the land wherever you are and sometimes, it just doesn't make sense. We have to learn to get beyond ourselves and see a situation through God's eyes - not ours. The problem? We too often put expectations on what we're supposed to see, hear, sense, or feel. That's a vision killer for sure so... learn to let go of any preconceived ideas first.

How does one learn to see in the spirit? It takes practice, just like a musician has to practice scales over and over and over.... (you get the point) to understand that patterns found within music relate to all musical works. The more we practice something, the better we get at it. This is how I learned to see in the spirit.

  • I started with purifying my imagination where I envisioned being with Jesus. This was a step of faith for me because I didn't see anything at first.
  • A good starting point is to look around a room (your house, work, coffee shop, etc.). Then, close your eyes and picture in your mind where everything is located that you just looked at. Then, do the same thing with a specific object. Look it over, close your eyes, and see it in your imagination. Repeat this process several times because it's exercising your imagination.
  • Next, I would go into my bedroom at night and turn all the lights off and stare up at the ceiling with it totally black in the room. Eventually I closed my eyes and continued practicing. Of course, I could see nothing with my natural eyes. I did this for at least half an hour. If I fell asleep, fine. Then, I activated my dreams.
  • I focused on seeing with my spiritual eyes by turning inward to my heart. It took a couple weeks before I saw anything, which could be discouraging so... don't be discouraged if it seems to take you a long time.
  • Eventually, I began to see flashes of light, stars, streaks, and other things. I'd then close my eyes and visualize a peaceful garden and see myself in that place. I'd look around and try to describe the flowers, the sky, and other things.
  • If something didn't make sense or I saw something weird, I didn't judge it. I simply noted it.
  • The key to this? Stay rooted in Love and gratitude. If love and gratitude are your focus, negative stuff (including the enemy himself) can't stand to be in that place so they have no power to do anything.
  • I then began to journal what I sensed, saw, heard, and felt. I didn't judge anything but simply wrote stuff down. I believe journaling is a major key to this. Why? If you don't, you second guess yourself. Write now, judge later.
  • Practice, practice, practice! If I didn't say practice, then practice some more!

Side note here... The enemy comes AS a roaring lion. He's only that IF you give him the power to do so. The enemy becomes what you make him. That's why it's important NOT to pay attention to him. Turn and look at God, wrap yourself in His Perfect Love, and go about your business. Escort fear out the door and stay cloaked in Perfect Love. What you put your attention toward, that's your focus. If you want to see in the spirit, put your eyes toward God, not the enemy.

I will conclude here that seeing in the spirit is just like anything else in life. If you don't put your attention to it, "it ain't gonna happen." How bad do you want something? How much do you want to move past blockages in your life? When you're ready, you'll let go of any fear wrapped around your thoughts. If you've been told that seeing in the spirit is new age, then there's a lot to unengage with. Some paradigm shifts are needed. Go and read Bible stories of people who saw things in the heavens. I then ask you, if they could do it, why can't you?

With that, if you'd like some resources, there are some items listed in the sources section below. Click on the title that will take you to a link for the appropriate book or class. All include information about seeing in the spirit and understanding how the spirit, soul, and body must work together as a 3-stranded cord that functions in complete harmony. This includes using your spiritual eyes and other senses (hear, smell, taste, touch).

Enjoy the journey!

Intimacy with God

It’s your turn

Hebrews 4:3 says that his works have been finished since the creation of the world.  He has done everything he is going to do for you. What does that mean? He is sitting on His seat of rest, and He is waiting for you. I repeatedly hear people say, “I don’t’ feel close to God.” “I have no intimacy with God.” Then I find out that they are doing nothing about it. Peter, James, and John were Jesus’ best friends because they desired him and desired to be with Him. It wasn’t because he liked them better than the other nine disciples.

I wondered why people don’t do more to seek after God. I quickly realized it was mostly because of wrong assumptions and lies.  Let’s review a few.

Hindrances to Intimacy with God

  1. It’s a lot of work. At least that’s the way a lot of us think. I can almost feel my clients tense up and groan when I talk about seeking after God. But when you fell in love with your significant other, did it feel like work? No. You were wrapped in the mystery and adventure of getting to know that person. You desired to be with them all the time. It was difficult to leave them until the next time you would meet again. You thought about them all the time. That’s the way it should be for you and God.
  2. You don’t know what to do to get close to God. Rather than try something, you do nothing at all. Well, I will give you a list of ideas. But please, don’t just do nothing. There’s an old saying. “You can’t steer a ship unless it’s moving.”
  3. You don’t feel worthy. Hogwash!!! He created you. He desires you. You argue that you have done terrible things and have disqualified yourself. God doesn’t look at it that way. Moses was a murder. David was an adulterer. God made you. It is his heart’s desire for you to live in his presence.
  4. God doesn’t like you or love you. Somehow you believe that you were created a second-class citizen. You think that you were made differently than most people. Psalm 139 says that He formed you and knitted you together in your mother’s womb. It says that you were fearfully and wonderfully made. Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you.” Also, Romans 8:29 For unto those who he knew beforehand, he also marked out beforehand the way that they might be conformed to the image of his Son. He has always known you. You just don’t remember. If you don’t believe this, tell me, and let’s work on it together.

The journey

It starts with you, your heart’s desire, and the effort you are willing to put into the adventure of knowing God. Artisans don’t become great without practice. If you desire to be full of His wisdom, if you want to fall in love with God, if you are yearning for His peace and His Joy, “you” must do something about it. He is waiting for you to come to Him. Why is he waiting? Because He has done His part. He wants you to seek Him. It will help you understand your love for him.  Matthew 6:18 also says,” Seek first the kingdom of God.” He’s a gentle person. He isn’t going to force you into anything you don’t want to do. My Dad used to say that the process is as important as the end result. It’s in the doing that truth gets cemented in our lives. He wants you to understand the value of your relationship with Him.

What’s more important to a man, a Mercedes. or a Fiat? The Mercedes because it cost him more. The same thing is true with God. Seeking Him will help you value God in your life.

So, what can you do to know Him?

Avenues to intimacy

  1. Read or listen to books You need to lay a foundation that is unshakable. It starts with knowing the bible and other supporting works like the Book of Enock, The Book of Jubilees, The Book of Giants. Why you ask? Well, 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to show yourself approved to God.” Also, John 8:32 says, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” The word know means to bury within you. I’ll say it again if you hate reading use an app like Audible and listen. If you have a short attention span, listen to the same book three times. You will understand something new every time.
  2. Learn meditation A great place to start is http://www.practicalmeditations.online/ This is Kirby De Lanerolle’s website. Another link is the Fuse Life podcast https://youtu.be/jyYS-48MvXU This is an interview with Taylor Remington. It will explain meditation to you if you are unfamiliar.
  3. Silence Spend time in silence and just focus on the presence of God. Start with just five minutes once or twice a day. If your mind wanders, it’s okay. Just do it again. You will find yourself more and more focused as you practice. Have you ever heard someone say, “We are changed in His presence?” This is one of the ways.
  4. Living Loved I highly recommend Katherine Wang’s course on intimacy with God. It’s a series of 20-minute lessons with practical exercises. Not only will it make you feel closer to God, but it will also improve your sanctified imagination.
  5. Sounds, Frequencies, and Sound Baths I know this may sound crazy to you. But it helps detox and align your cells. There are a few links I recommend for this. Elisabeth Cooper Music https://elisabethcooper.com/, Del Hungerford at Healing Frequencies Music https://www.healingfrequenciesmusic.com/ The third is Laura C https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6tTPQqW1ghZBoPm_BuGDdw. Listen! Sit silently in God’s presents. Things will manifest in you and through you.
  6. Divine Journaling. Get a notebook just for you and God. 1) Ask him a question and write it down. 2) Write down any thoughts that come to your mind. If you think it’s just your imagination or fantasy, share the journal with someone you trust. In time, you will know when it is you talking or daydreaming and when God truly answers you.
  7. Use your imagination You can do many things in your imagination. Go for walks with God. Dance with Jesus. Let Holy Spirit wrap her skirts around you like hugging your mom’s legs when you were a child. Sit on a park bench with Jesus. Go sailing or horseback riding with God and journal what happens. Again, if you think it is pure fantasy, share it with and friend and see what they think.

Well, that’s about it for now.  I pray this blog help’s you.

Waiting for your Armor of God?

You are wearing it now!!!

I just completed a teaching on the armor of God less than a year ago. Yet, I was working on helping one of my clients with her armor and more bits of revelation came to me. Consequently, if you have seen the teaching and activation on my YouTube channel, this blog will expound a bit more on this subject.

Do you remember in the 90’s it was popular to memorize and quote Ephesians 6 every day? It was recommended that you put on your armor of God every morning. For some reason that never sat well with me. I don’t know why. I just didn’t understand what good it would do. Everyone used the quote “put on the armor of God.” That was the phrase. “put on.” But, scripture doesn’t say anything about putting on the armor of God. It says to take up the arm of God, or it says to take unto yourself the armor of God. The Greek word, Dia, is used in Ephesians 6:13. It means to place with or to place in. Regarding time, it means through or during. So, we are to place the armor of God with us and in us. We are to have it throughout time and during time. What does that mean? The end of the verse says, “to withstand in the evil day. “  The word for evil here is, Poneros, meaning pressed and harassed by labors, bringing toils, annoyances, perils; of a time full of peril to Christian faith and steadfastness; causing pain and trouble. Our world is currently in unrest. Many countries are living through political turmoil. A plague has spread throughout the world. It’s affecting the economies of most countries. It’s been sixty years since we have seen protests and rioting over issues that divide us. I think that is what I would call evil days. Wouldn’t you? Could it be that we need our armor now?

Guess what? Most of us have at least some of it on right now. And some of us have all of it on right now. We have our armor on because of our choice to seek after God and become like Christ. Do you know the difference between someone who chooses to tell the truth and a person of integrity? There are people who have no problem telling truth or lies. What they choose to say depends on each situation. It’s actually called situational ethics. The person that has made truth a lifestyle lives in it. Making truth of lifestyle means they are always wearing their breast of righteousness. Now that’s a person of integrity.

I used to think of the phrase in verse 17, the helmet of Salvation, as solely eternal salvation. But that’s not true. It’s salvation from our troubles. It’s salvation from the onslaught of those who would do us harm whether it be a war or someone trying to break into your house. It can be temporal and well as eternal of salvation. The same verse then mentions the sword of the spirit. What spirit? Whose spirit? Well, it means Holy Spirit and your spirit. This is my opinion. But I have come to think of it as the combination of the two of us. If the Holy Spirit is a gas and I am a gas, then we mingle. Gases mingle. Somehow, we become one cloud. Scripture says that both the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit are the word of God. What is the word of God? Most people would answer “the bible.” To be more accurate, it is revelation. When you have a relationship with God, He speaks truths and mysteries to you. Think about it. Have you ever had an “Ah Ha” moment? It’s God making know to you what his word truly means. The people who wrote the bible first had revelation. If they didn’t have revelation, nothing would have been written.  Simply, when you make living in His presence, receiving His truths, and revelation a lifestyle, you always have your sword and helmet with you and in you.

Are you starting to understand why quoting the scripture every day back in the ’90s caused me concern? Because no amount of memorizing the scripture or imagining dressing in it made the armor effective. When you carry truth, justice, God’s word, love, peace, and faith, with you and in you. Your armor is on!

Keeping short accounts helps keep the armor on too. Do you have peace with all men? Did you get angry and hateful recently? Did you choose fear over faith about an event in your life? Take a moment to give all of that to God and receive his forgiveness. Just like that! Your armor is on!

I would then recommend meeting with some friends and taking a look at each other’s armor. Its fun and you will learn a lot about your friends. Here’s the link to a video when we did it together.

Here’s the link to my video about your armor. I hope you enjoy it. https://youtu.be/yU74LaZoVz8

Healing Father Wounds

It has come to my attention that many people in our fellowship have what are now popularly called “Father Wounds.” That being the case, I thought maybe you also might be interested in how to heal these wounds. As a wholeness and healing practitioner, I have some observations.

This is what I repeatedly see.

  1.  You have a need for love and intimacy but never feel like you have obtained it.
  2.  You have difficulty being intimate and transparent.
  3.  You cannot imagine yourself in the presence of Father God.
  4.  You cannot imagine yourself hugged by father God.
  5.  You cannot imagine yourself in this throne room standing before father God.
  6.  You do not believe that God is your father.
  7.  You do not believe that you are worthy of god’s love.
  8.  You do not believe that God likes you.
  9.  You believe that you were created unlovable
  10.  You believe that you are not worthy to have a father’s love.
  11.  That somehow it’s all your fault.

This type of wound cripples your life.  It won’t allow you true intimacy in fellowship with others. It stops you from being a self-starter on any project or creativity you were involved in because you believe you’re not worthy.

It’s actually one of Satan’s strategies. It started at the end of World war II. Men came home from the war so shocked and traumatized that they withdrew. They believed that they could not talk about it. They believed it was inappropriate to talk about it. The result was a whole generation of men who couldn’t connect with others.  Hence, children didn’t have models as to what a loving and interactive father is.

The trauma these men had manifested an iniquity. The root of iniquity is a character defect. As an example, there is a long line of alcoholism in my family. Alcoholism was a visible sin. However, my family was taught to swallow emotions. Hence the character defect was our inability to express our feelings. Because we did not talk about difficult emotions, we drank and ate to comfort ourselves.

Heal Painful Memories

The first is to take your painful memories to the Lord and let him take the pain. There’s a specific protocol I use. But, it’s as simple as standing before Him and letting Him lift the pain out of your hands.

Once you’ve done the first step you will be amazed our how easy it is to forgive. Which is the second step.

Forgive

Exodus 34:7
Keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,  but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

Numbers 14:18
The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity
and transgression,
but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’

What’s the first thing mentioned in those scriptures? Love and forgiveness! Forgiveness is a significant step to your own freedom. If you don’t forgive that iniquity will be carried on through you to your next generation.

The next steps are found in Matthew 7.

Remove Judgement

1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

6“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Instead of pointing the finger at your Dad and saying “You did this to me.” Ask the Lord to show you your Father’s pain. Ask for a miracle from the Lord. See your father’s pain.  Offer your father mercy. Understand that you may have to do this in your imagination because he made be dead or absent. Removing judgment from him will also start the process of removing judgment from your future generations.

Seek Love and Peace

Isaiah says to seek the Lord while he may be found. Hebrews says do not delay in entering his rest. There is actually a time limit on your ability to heal and clean this situation. If there is an unction in your heart to do so I encourage you to diligently seek after The Lord today.

  1. Ask the Lord to show you his love.
  2. Tell the Lord you desire intimacy with him and ask him to show it to you. It is very important to develop intimacy with God. I recommend Katharine Wang’s course on intimacy with God. At the writing of this blog, February 2021, she is just completing it and it should be up on the web soon. Here’s the link https://www.atcuniversity.com/
  3. Just like the widow knocking on the judge’s door, don’t be afraid to repeat yourself. Knock until he answers you.

One thing I know for sure, he will answer you. I guarantee you that he will show you his love and intimacy if you let him. It’s up to you.

An abundance of blessings to you,

Anna

Is a Workman Truly Worthy of His Hire?

There are several scriptures that relate to the phrase “a workman is worthy of his hire.” To name a few: Luke 10:7, 1 Timothy 5:18, Mathew 10:10, Leviticus 19:13, and Deuteronomy 24:15. CLICK HERE to read those scriptures in Bible Gateway.  Consider looking at each scripture in a variety of translations. Depending on your religious paradigm, the interpretations will vary.

Here’s the issue with our standard belief system concerning people getting paid, specifically to “minister.” For some odd reason, we seem to have it in our minds that since “freely you’ve received – freely give.” This scripture comes from Matthew 10:18. CLICK HERE to read a variety of translations in Bible Hub. I encourage you to read those translations before looking at the definitions below. Once you’ve done that, look at the original Greek in Bible Wheel. CLICK HERE for that information. Here is a synopsis of those definitions.

  • FREELY: δωρεαν dorean {do-reh-an’} without a cause, in vain, for nought, freely, undeservedly
  • RECEIVED: λαμβανω lambano {lam-ban’-o} receive, take, have, catch. To take, to take with the hand, lay hold of, any person or thing in order to use it, to take up a thing to be carried, to take upon one’s self, to take in order to carry away. Without the notion of violence, i,e to remove, take away. To take what is one’s own, to take to one’s self, to make one’s own. To claim, procure, for one’s self. To associate with one’s self as companion, attendant – of that which when taken is not let go, to seize, to lay hold of, apprehend. To take by craft (our catch, used of hunters, fisherman, etc.), to circumvent one by fraud. To take to one’s self, lay hold upon, take possession of, i.e. to appropriate to one’s self. Catch at, reach after, strive to obtain. To take a thing due, to collect, gather (tribute). To take, to admit, receive. To receive what is offered, not to refuse or reject. To receive a person, give him access to one’s self. To regard any one’s power, rank, external circumstances, and on that account to do some injustice or neglect something. To take, to choose, select. To take beginning, to prove anything, to make a trial of, to experience. To receive (what is given), to gain, get, obtain, to get back.
  • GIVE: διδωμι didomi {did’-o-mee} grant, put, show, deliver, make. 1) to give 2) to give something to someone of one’s own accord to give one something, to his advantage. To bestow a gift. To grant, give to one asking, let have. To supply, furnish, necessary things. To give over, deliver. To reach out, extend, present. To give over to one’s care, entrust, commit. Something to be administered. To give or commit to some one something to be religiously observed. To give what is due or obligatory, to pay: wages or reward. To furnish, endue. To give, to cause, profuse, give forth from one’s self. To give, hand out lots. To appoint to an office. To cause to come forth, i.e. as the sea, death and Hell are said to give up the dead who have been engulfed or received by them. To give one to someone as his own. As an object of his saving care. To give one to someone, to follow him as a leader and master. To give one to someone to care for his interests. To give one to someone to whom he already belonged, to return 4) to grant or permit one. To commission.

Let’s take this scripture and reword it a little and see if that changes the meaning. Here’s the original in the NIV: “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” Now, let’s replace the words freely, receive and give with another translation that might explain the scripture a bit better. “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Undeservedly you have laid hold of; undeservedly deliver.” There is nothing in any of the above definitions that points toward receiving pay for services rendered. There is no hint of that anywhere! On the other hand, when looking at the scriptures in the first paragraph, there is clear evidence that a workman is truly worthy of his hire. Bottom line, when people provide a service, pay them what they’re worth. If you don’t agree, go somewhere else.

With that, we move onto a story. Many reading this know that I’m a musician and create music for the purposes of it being therapeutic. In addition, I create exercises and “practice” opportunities (available on this site) for those on a journey of Christian maturity. In a sense, they are both a form of ministry. The music is more acceptable by the church for “pay” than teachings. In the minds of some, I should be giving out these materials for free. I also get that request (only from Christians) on the Healing Frequencies Music website, especially those who really want a particular album but can’t pay for it. In fact, Christians tend to be the cheapest and want something for nothing. The only rude correspondence to date has come from those who say they are Christians – 100% of the time. What does this say about the Christian community as a whole?

I see some strange attitudes when it comes to Christian conferences as well. Conferences aren’t cheap to host. People fail to realize that renting a building, purchasing supplies, and paying service providers costs money. There’s this paradigm of “God will provide” so you should just let us in for free. I was at a conference where a group of women all wanted a teaching set. They agreed to pool their resources so they could purchase the whole set (as a download) and share it among themselves. In other words, the woman who purchased it would then send a copy of the downloads to the other women so they’d all have their own copy. I watched this play out for a bit while they discussed it and eventually asked a simple question, “Do you think that’s a good trade?” Long story short… after some further discussion, they decided not to go through with it.

When you do a job, you’re providing of form of “ministry” to someone whether it be fixing a vehicle, cutting your hair, giving your money to the teller at the bank for a deposit, etc. That person is doing something for you that you can’t do yourself. So, he/she is ministering to your needs. To understand more of why I say that, consider reading my article about ministry vs. jobs. From what I’m reading in Matthew 10:8, it doesn’t direct any meaning toward providing services for free. There aren’t more scriptures that seem to point to that interpretation either (unless I’m missing one) but there ARE plenty of scriptures that address being paid what you’re worth.

The topic of a workman being worthy of his (or her) wages intermingled with the “freely receive, freely give” concept has messed up some people because we tend to swallow what’s preached at us – hook, line, and sinker. We haven’t been responsible for our own spiritual growth because we allow what pastors teach us as “thus sayeth the Lord.” We seem to have no problem paying a pastor… well…  most of the time. They tend to live on next to nothing and have to get a second job in order to make ends meet while we demand their attention to “fix” issues in our lives that we could often fix ourselves by putting at bit of effort into a good solution. This includes Christian counseling, which I had first-hand experience during marriage counseling. What’s the point if we’re not going to do what’s suggested?

Here’s the thing…. when you pay for something, you have ownership in/of it. When you don’t pay, you have zero ownership unless the giver chooses to turn over the ownership to you. A gift is a choice by the giver, not the recipient. I was at another conference where one of the speakers kept coming up to the booths saying, “You’ll give me one of those for free?” It was more of a demand than a request. This is all about trading. When you trade, you’re exchanging one thing for another. We can have good trades and bad trades. Much of that depends on our attitude in the midst of the trade. If there’s an expectation that something will be free, that’s a bad trade. I have another teaching on trading so I’ll not go into those details here. CLICK HERE for that post.

The Bible also states that we’ll reap what we sow. If we sow bad trades, we’ll reap bad trades. If we have expectations that things will be free because we believe they should be, then we’re not operating with honor or good character. That’s also a bad trade. A good trade involves putting something of value towards what you desire. When you do it that way, you own it. When it comes with an expectation, that’s of no value because it dishonors the giver. Let the giver make the choice to freely give.

We now get back to the main point at the beginning – a workman is worthy of his hire. That’s plain and simple with little room for misinterpretation. When reading the various versions of the Bible on this subject, there does seem to be uniform agreement. That’s not the case with Matthew 10:8. Hmmm…. I find that interesting but will leave that up for your own pondering as to why that is. The key here is that in order to make a good trade, both the giver and recipient should be on the same page. If you find something overpriced, then don’t moan and whine about it. (There is cheese to go with that whine.) Go find something within your price range that works for you. This includes counseling, receiving services of any kind, attending conferences, etc. If we simply don’t have the funds, then let’s not put it on the giver to lower the price enough that we can have what they’re offering. This might be a growing opportunity for each of us to learn how to exercise our faith muscle and see how God provides.

Why expect someone to meet our needs and desires when we can use a situation as an opportunity to sit with Jesus and discuss His best plan? When we learn to look at our situations through the eyes of Yahweh, we often have a completely different picture of the process and any solutions that go with it. As we learn to move from our personal expectations and paradigms to those of Yahweh, we grow in character. I encourage all those reading this to get outside old religious boxes of expecting things to be free just because of a perception that it’s “ministry related.” For many of us, what we do replaces a 9 to 5 job. We have training in our fields and offer a high quality product. Why should we be expected to give our product and services for free? That attitude is not honoring the God-given gifts of the giver. Even when something is offered for free, it’s “good form” to sow into that person or ministry. What it does is release more blessings over you! It opens the door for more!

Honestly, it took me some time to work through a bad paradigm concerning this topic. The “freely receive; freely give” Bible verse was used as a weapon to get me to give things to people. This included time, service to a ministry, and physical items or services. It’s a rampant problem in the church, especially for those in the artistic community. Why conference hosts often don’t pay the worship team is beyond me. Those leading worship tend to spend more time on the stage than guest speakers. It seems that we have our priorities a bit messed up concerning two things: 1) the definition of a worker, and 2) our expectation that ministry should be free. I believe that as we honor those who meet our needs and desires (via our pocketbook), we’ll see more breakthrough in our finances.

May you be blessed in your giving and receiving!

When Life Throws You Lemons

The phrase “when life throws lemons” seems to pretty well spell out the “sour” parts of life that are often not pleasant. How do we deal with those? Do we even NEED to deal with them? These are two of the most asked questions I hear when it comes to life circumstances and how to handle them.

One thing I’ve learned over the past umpteen years of my life is that life happens – the good, the bad, and the ugly. We live in a world where it’s “all about me” and what’s best for me. When we have that attitude, it’s pretty difficult to see beyond ourselves. Unfortunately, society seems to be training us to become self-focused. Yes, some of that is good but there is an overboard to everything. Too much of a good thing perhaps? It’s the pendulum swing that hits both extremes. So, how do we find the balance point?

On my journey into wholeness, I’ve had many opportunities to look at life circumstances in a new light. I share some of my own journey in the video titled “Embracing Trials” at The Gathering conference for NW Ekklesia in the summer of 2019. I encourage you to watch it so you have an idea of how I view it when life throws lemons my direction. Here’s the deal…. various religious organizations treat the subject of trials in a variety of manners. The most popular version of that is “Well, it’s God’s will for me to go through this.” Uh, really!? I’m not sure where that teaching came from but how can a loving God purposefully force trials on us? Would you do that to your own children? Of course not! The best “teacher” in getting through life allows us to learn from the “school of hard knocks.”

The other popular belief is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It’s the attitude that we should never have to go through trials. We then spout off a “command and demand” wording. When we do have struggles, we think we’ve done something wrong. There is some truth to this belief because science does say that our thoughts and intents really do affect us. We should be careful with what comes out of our mouth. The Word also says that “life and death are in the power of the tongue.” It’s in Proverbs so have fun looking it up. Where people get it wrong in this belief is the idea that we should never have to deal with trials and tribulations. My question to those people is “How are you going to learn to deal with life if nothing ever goes wrong?” When we don’t experience hardships and then learn how to practice working through those hardships, we don’t mature. It’s like giving a kid everything they want growing up. Then, when they move out of the house, they don’t know how to handle any form of opposition that comes their way. Since I teach at the college level and have for over 30 years, I see this first-hand. I call it the “entitlement” attitude. When we feel entitled, we assume things will go as we expect. When we expect, we don’t honor those around us. And, when things don’t go as expected, entitled people don’t know how to handle it.

How then do we handle life when it throws lemons at us? I’ve been on a journey for several years now in learning to look at trials in a new light. At the same time, I’m also learning that Holy Spirit speaks to us, giving us a “heads up” at times, too. It’s those thoughts that flit by that we often ignore because they don’t make sense. I’ll use a recent example in how I actually paid attention to that “still small voice” coming from within. I recently purchased a new computer because the old one started having issues. I researched before deciding what to buy. I looked at consumer reports, talked with computer geeks, and consulted those knowledgeable concerning computers. I finally settled on going directly to a computer company rather than a retailer. The salesman walked me through the options after I told him what I needed. At that point, we began to talk price and all the add-on options, one of which included a premium support plan. At first, I didn’t want to spend the extra money but something within said it was a good idea. I’ve never done it before but the thought of having technical assistance for a lengthy amount of time intrigued me, especially since I just moved to a small town where there’s limited resources.

Long story short… A Microsoft update fried a few things on the new computer after I’d had it only three months. Because I had the premium support plan, the company sent a technician TWICE to my house to replace the fried parts. Many days and hours later, my computer was fixed. Yes, it did hinder progress but I chose not to let it frustrate me. The day after everything was fixed, I was sitting in my heart garden having a discussion with Yahweh about it. He said to me “Do you remember when you felt the nudge to purchase the premium support?” I thought about that for a moment before He replied, “You listened to My voice… When you listen and then do, those things minimize the chaos of a situation.”

I learned something new from that conversation. When we spend time developing a relationship with the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), out of that relationship, we learn to function IN Christ which in turn infuses a frequency of entrainment with the Trinity from that relationship into how we live life on earth. How many times do things flit through our mind that are directly from the heart of the Father? We ignore them because they don’t make sense. And, we’ve not practiced hearing His voice. Those thoughts can prepare us for an upcoming situation if we pay attention. No, having computer issues wasn’t fun. However, I did rejoice because it didn’t cost me anything to get it fixed and I didn’t have to send the computer back. It was still operational in it’s fried state but on a limited level. So, I still got some work done. For me, this was a victory because I listened without the understanding of why I should do so. The more we practice doing this, the less life’s lemons have the potential of wreaking havoc on our lives.

As you watch the video of my presentation at The Gathering, you’ll get the opportunity to see how I walked through seven years of uncertainty about my living situation. I share times I messed up as well as those I got right. (Because the original video didn’t turn out, I re-recorded it once I got home. And, it allows you to see the entire PowerPoint presentation.) I’ll be honest, the years 2012 – 2019 were a bit tricky. I had no control over the eminent domain process. What I DID have control over was my attitude and response to the situation. I chose to make lemonade rather than eat sour lemons from this experience. I matured through it, learned to legislate from the heavenly realms, met territorial angels, understood more of what’s on my life’s scroll, and received a better home than what I previously lived in. I believe that had I chosen more negative responses, things would be different. I understood this was an opportunity to learn and grow in the midst of a circumstance. How I chose to do that was totally up to me, even when I didn’t have control of the outcome.

CONCLUSION…

When life throws us lemons, it’s important to pick them up and ask Father, “What should I do with this?” This helps us put on the right attitude that in turn sets the wheels in motion for us to walk through the circumstance with honor. Life is simply going to stink at times. It’s HOW we deal with a situation that determines the level of peace we walk in during the circumstance. When we step into the heavenlies and partner with the Trinity, making our relationship with Them first and foremost, we create character building practice sessions. Without practice, we don’t mature. In order to mature, we get to go through trials. If we keep facing the same trials, that means we’ve not yet passed that test. That’s when I go before Yahweh seeking the truth, even when I may not want to see it. Ultimately, when I make the decision to deal with junk from my life, I get to be free of those things that hold me back.

Finally, as we develop that intimate relationship with the Trinity, we’re able to recognize that still small voice. If we give priority to building an intimate relationship with the Trinity, we learn to function from our true identity IN Christ. This is a perfect life opportunity to practice hearing the voice of Yahweh. But, it’s best done when our focus is on building relationship. It’s not about going before God and saying, “I need this from you today….” Everything else begins to fall in place OUT of that relationship. May you enjoy making lemonade out of life’s lemons!

Living the “Ascended” Lifestyle

In a nutshell, I learned that as a Son of God (no male or female in Christ), I can live an “ascended lifestyle.” What exactly is that? I’ve coined the phrase “come up here principle” where my focus is on spending time with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit “up here.” I see things through the spirit rather than in the natural. John even says throughout scripture that he was “in the spirit.” If he could do it, so can we. We see in the spirit through our imagination. For the longest time, I didn’t know how to do that. I practiced and practiced and practiced daily seeing with my spiritual eyes. As with all things in life, the more you practice, the better you get at something. Seeing in the spirit isn’t a gift. It’s part of what we’re supposed to do as believers. For some, it comes very naturally. That wasn’t the case for me.

Many of you may remember Rick Joyner’s book The Final Quest. That’s a wow book for me because it’s so vivid. The first part grossed me out but never-the-less, I read beyond the gross part because something about the story intrigued me. Joyner was in the spirit and shown many things.

Learning to live “from heaven to earth” is like anything new. It takes practice. Oh, and did I say that it takes practice? The age-old teaching based on gifts has nothing to do with this principle. I never functioned in any of the spiritual gifts so there’s nothing special about what I do. I practice and practice and practice ascending and staying in the kingdom realms where I’m seeing things from a heavenly perspective rather than our normal run-of-the-mill boring life. Oh wait, and I should say overly-dramatic and often negative, too. Somehow, I managed to stay away from much of that because I always had a sense that God is good… ALL the time. No, I didn’t understand everything that happened but in most cases, I chose to see how God used a situation to help me mature. My most recent experience with that involved losing my home to the eminent domain process. That story is for another time…

Living an ascended lifestyle is simply focusing on being in the presence of God through the “come up here” principle of being with Him in the kingdom realms of heaven. Yes, there are lots of amazing things that I see but those all direct me to Him… Yahweh… God… my Creator. In that place of the ascended lifestyle, I get to know the persons of God (Yahweh), Jesus (Yeshua), and the Holy Spirit.

If seeing in the spirit is difficult, go to Ian’s website (www.sonofthunder.org) and type in “I Can See” into the search bar. That’s a great teaching to get you started. It was my first introduction into learning to see with my spiritual eyes. I then added my own exercises.

Happy practicing!

Is it Possible to Reprogram our DNA with Words?

In Internet land, articles about reprogramming our DNA by our words are making the rounds. That intrigued me simply because of my own experiences in changing what I say over myself. Scientific data or not, I know there’s something to it. In “Accessing Your Spiritual Inheritance,” I talk about going into my bloodstream and taking out the dark spots to clean things up. Those dark spots were words spoken by me or by others over me. The fact that this experience took place in my bloodstream tells me there was a reprogramming of my DNA since DNA is carried in the blood. With that, we move on…

The original researcher’s name is Pjotr Garjajev. He’s a Russian scientist who works with the Institute of Linguistics and Wave Genetics. The introduction for their site says “Linguistics – Wave Genetics is a major branch of the main trunk of the biology and classical genetics. Institute of quantum Genetics takes the concept of a GENE on the quantum level and actually displays Classical genetics of experimentally-theoretical impasse.” If you’re interested in reading about this research project, it’s mentioned in the “Journal of Epigenetics” from February of 2017 (Vol 3 No. 1:4) in an article titled Application of Sound Frequencies as an Epigenetic Tool in Reversing the Limiting Symptoms of Autism by Rajalakshmi Kandaswamy. CLICK HERE to read it. Kandaswamy’s research focuses on using sound frequencies as part of the process of healing autism.

Here are some important key factors in studies completed by both Kandaswamy and Garjajev as well as other scientists in the field of epigenetics:

  • At least 93% of all communication is non-verbal.
  • Dr. Albert Mehrabian conducted several non-verbal communication studies. He found that only 7% of any message is conveyed through words, 38% through certain vocal elements, and 55% through nonverbal elements (facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, posture, and tone of voice).
  • Hearing is a vibrational interpretation of particular frequencies (energy waves) in the form of sound upon the ears.
  • Seeing is energy waves in the form of light in the body that includes the retina, rods and cones, the optical nerve, etc..
  • The Russian team discovered that human DNA stores data like a computer’s memory system. In addition to this, the human genetic code uses grammar rules and syntax in a way that closely mirrors human language.
  • The structuring of DNA-alkaline pairs follows grammar’s set rules. This shows that all human languages are simply verbalizations of the human DNA.

In the article by Kandaswamy, he provides some details of Garjajev’s study. The team discovered that DNA could be changed and rearranged in living human DNA with words. The right frequency is also a key factor. The original article is  quoted… “Since clear ‘communication’ with DNA requires the correct frequency, individuals with more highly developed inner processes will be more able to create a conscious channel of communication with the DNA. Individuals whose consciousness is more highly developed will have less need for any type of device (to apply radio or light frequencies). Scholars of this science believe that with consciousness, people can achieve results using only their own words and thoughts.” (http://www.clinical-epigenetics.imedpub.com/)

The article by Kandaswamy mentions that the “pureness” of the intent in the person working with autistic children is a major factor in how the “signals” are received. Signals = frequency. They call this “Intent Healing,” which involves making sure the intent is pure when working with autistic children. Simply put, what’s being said needs to match the intent so it’s pure. If the two are opposing, then there’s a problem and the process won’t work.

The original article by Pjotr Garjajev is titled “Wave Genetic Code” and was published in 1997. His team reported in 1996 on laser-active chromosomes. The chromosome apparatus emits laser-like waves. Garjajev and collaborator, M. Maslov, demonstrated that the genetic code exists as a substance and at the same time as a hologram. On a screen, they received a typical wave pattern that persisted after removal of the sample, as though there were still a matter sample present. Control experiments exclude errors, confirming the accuracy of the experiment, which is repeatable at any time and is referred to as a phantom DNA effect.

You may be asking, “How does this affect me?” A frequency occurs through speech. Paired with intent that matches the speech, it brings purity into the frequency. We call this “entanglement” because the two are necessary to work together in perfect harmony. Without that purity, the process doesn’t work. This appears to be well demonstrated in the Russian team’s study. The original article is in German and I can’t find a translation. So, I rely on credible studies that quote the research.

The implications of this study are huge in understanding the importance of our words as well as our thoughts. If you read my article on Healing Frequencies Music titled,  “Thoughts, Intents, Action!,” I comment on the importance of our words and how they frame our world. In a sense, how we frame our world affects our DNA. So, in a nutshell, if we want to change our very cellular makeup, matching our words and intents creates a “pure” frequency that positively changes our DNA. I believe the opposite is also true. Negative words with wrong intent won’t have a positive effect on our bodies. Maybe that’s why so many people struggle with illness. Add how our current society feeds on the “gloom and doom” aspects of life and we have a recipe for sickness and disease to run rampant.

When we focus on the goodness of God rather than the badness of the enemy, we’re framing our intent and resonating at a higher frequency. They say in the counterfeit money world, those who handle money are trained to recognize the real thing rather than the counterfeit. That way, when the counterfeit does present itself, it’s easy to tell. We should function the same way with kingdom protocol. Too much energy is wasted on studying the enemies tactics. By being in the place of LOVE and learning to entrain and entangle with the being of Love, we become more aware of the negative things that pull us down. We literally reprogram our DNA to align with God’s when our intents and words line up in a positive manner.

To end on a more positive note, there are ways to “practice” changing our thought patterns. One way I do that is through my “Song of the Month.”  I  provide a daily practice platform to help subscribers learn to re-frame their personal worlds according to practices of a culture that’s been around for at least 3,000 years. Obviously, if it’s still being used, there’s something to it! A key point in all of this is the importance of our thoughts, intents, and words. They really can reframe our world!

May your thoughts, intents, and words be full of joy, peace, patience, kindness, hope, and love!

Shalom!
